ESTHERVILLE - Lewis C. Heggen, 84, Washington and formerly of Estherville, died Sunday [19 Aug. 1979] at the Washington Care Center, where he had been a resident since 1975.

Services for Mr. Heggen will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, with the Rev. Stan Eyberg officiating. Interment will be in the Estherville Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Tuesday until time of services Wednesday.

Mr. Heggen was born April 9, 1895, at Dolliver and received his education in rural schools in the Dolliver area. He was married to Elizabeth Jensen on July 15, 1932. at Sioux Falls, S. D. and the couple farmed near Rake and Buffalo Center until moving to Estherville in 1939. After moving to Estherville he was a feed salesman for 25 years and later sold seed corn following retirement. He was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church.

Mr. Heggen is survived by two sons, Norman Heggen, Hot Springs, Ark., and Robert Heggen, Los Angeles. Calif.; one daughter Mrs. Burge (Marjorie) Hammond, Washington; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Belle Matre and Mrs. Andros Hanson, both of Estherville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, one brother and three sisters.
