Sheri,
I am interested in your DEVER family.
In my ancestry, two Dever sisters, Bridget and Susanna, married two MELLOY brothers, Patrick and Francis, resp. They were all born about the 1810s and early 1820s. Patrick and Bridget married in Ireland, in Co. Donegal, and Francis and Susanna married in Galena. Both families settled in Benton, WI, about 1845. The Patrick Melloy family moved to Dubuque Co., near Washington Mills (between Zwingle and Bernard) in 1876. I have been able to find no other Dever family linked to Bridget and Susanna. Can you tell me the history of your Dever family and whether any of their story could link to my Devers? Do you know when and where your Devers arrived in the US? Also, in the early years with these couples some alternate spellings are found in public records, most commonly MELOY and DIVER.
Best regards,
Patrick L Coleman
