Thanx Janette, I was considering that if the death was an accident perhaps a coroner's report was issued. But you don't indicate what specifically you're looking for. If you're looking for an obit, they didn't exist back then as we know them today. Often it was just a mention in the newspaper reporting the event.If it's a cemetery record you're seeking she could be buried in Dubuque co. or possibly in a family plot in Clayton co. if her parents, the Rutherfords are interred there. Have you checked with the Dubuque co gene society for any assistance they can provide? Dick
