Mae Noel, 81, of 482 Primrose St., died at 10:58 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, at home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Garden Mausoleum at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 6 p.m. today at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, where there will be a wake service at 3:30 p.m.
Mrs. Noel worked for JC Penney for many years in the catalog department.
She was born on May 1, 1922, in Dubuque, daughter of Herman and Pauline (Armbruster) Frick. She married Richard C. Noel on Aug. 10, 1943, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Dubuque; he preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 1994.
She graduated from the former Immaculate Conception Academy in Dubuque.
She was a member of Holy Ghost Altar and Rosary Society and Holy Ghost Senior Citizen Euchre Club. She also was a member of the JC Penney Retiree Club.
Surviving are four daughters, Susan Noel, of Florisant, Colo., Jean (Ralph) Eucher, of West Des Moines, Iowa, Linda (George) Skosey, of Oconomowoc, Wis., and Joyce Noel, of Dubuque; three sons, James (Trish) Noel, of Littleton, Colo., and Michael (Marilyn) Noel and John (Lavonne) Noel, both of Dubuque; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Clara Becker, of East Dubuque, Ill., and Gertrude Burkett, Coletta Hohnecker and Dorothy Frick, all of Dubuque.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lenny and Frank Frick; and two sisters, Marian Schmerbach and Bertha Risley.
Thank-you to Hospice of Dubuque, The Finley Hospital and Dr. Kirkendall for the care and kindness they gave to Mae and her family.
