Susan K. Campbell, 53, of 3060 Central Ave., died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, at St. Raphael Cathedral. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 3, at Hoffmann Schneider Funeral Home, 1640 Main St., where there will be a wake service at 6:30 p.m.

She was born on Nov. 18, 1954, in Dubuque, daughter of William P. and Helen E. (Gaherty) Campbell. She attended St. Raphael School and Dubuque Senior High School.

She was employed at Sunnycrest Manor for more than 20 years as a cook.

Susan loved to travel. The highlights of her life were her trips to Hawaii, Cancun and many road trips. She was a very social person. Everyone has fond memories of St. Patrick's Day in Dyersville with Susie.

Surviving are two sisters, Roseann (David) Chatfield and Lynne Latenser, both of Dubuque; two adopted sisters, Pat Luedtke and Janet (Mike) Schmit, both of Dubuque; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and her loving dog, Baby Bailey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Carol Petesch; and a brother-in-law, Robert Latenser.

A special thank-you to Dr. John Whalen and staff at the Tri-State Dialysis, visiting nurse and friend, Sue Wilson, friend and housekeeper, Jane Houtakker, her neighbors, Frank and Sherry Miller, and to cousin Mike for his loving phone calls.
