Edward Pierce Taken By Death

Edward Pierce died at the home of his niece, Mrs. J. J. Hankes, 758 Locust street,Sunday night at 6:30 o'clock. He had been ill for the past three weeks.

The funeral services will be held at the home Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The remains will be buried in Linwood cemetery.

Mr. Pierce was born in this city March 20, 1848, and had always made his home here. Until several years ago he was employed as a cook on steamboats on the Mississippi river. For some time he had been a news agent for the Milwaukee railroad.

He is survived by a brother, Perrin, of Osterdock,Iowa, three sisters, Mrs. Matt Cain, Mrs. Edward Farrell of this city, Mrs. John Goodrich of Minneapolis, and several nieces and nephews.
