Daniel Keefe was born in 1834. He emigrated to America in 1850 and married Ellen Hogan. Ellen was born in 1839. Daniel worked for the Illinois Central Railroad as a section foreman before settling on a farm two miles north of St. Joseph’s Cemetery. This property is now owned by the Duschner family. Daniel Keefe died in 1907. Ellen died in 1930. Their children were Mary Ellen Miller, Margaret Norton, Martha Connell, Johnny Willie, Joseph, James, John, Clara Manly, Regina Kelly and Leo Benedict.
