DYERSVILLE, Iowa — Lorraine M. Klostermann, 79, of Dyersville, Iowa, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Northbrook Manor Care Center in Cedar Rapids.Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave. SW in Dyersville, where a parish vigil service will be held at 3 p.m. and an American Legion Auxiliary service will be held at 4 p.m. Visitation will continue Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at Kramer Funeral Home prior to funeral services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville, with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Dennis Quint will officiate.
Lorraine was born February 2, 1939, in Winthrop, Iowa, the daughter of Lawrence and Mary (Erdmann) Weber. She married Alfred J. Klostermann on February 9, 1959, in Monti, Iowa. Together they farmed on the Klostermann family farm near Dyersville until moving to town in 1984. Lorraine served as a Nurses and Medication Aide in several care facilities in Delaware and Dubuque Counties. She and Alfred enjoyed bowling in leagues. Lorraine was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 137 and the Edward W. Lake VFW Auxiliary.
Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Joyce (Ron) Peiffer, of Marion, Iowa; daughters-in-law, Nancy Klostermann, of Dubuque, and Roxanne Klostermann, of Dyersville; grandchildren, Chad (Anna) Klostermann, Kristin (fiance JJ Snyder) Klostermann, Heather (David) Martin, Sean (Ariel) Klostermann, Erin (fiance Hannah Davis) Peiffer and Brandon Peiffer; great-grandchildren: Harmoney Paul, James Snyder and Liam Klostermann; siblings: Wayne Weber, of Quasqueton, Marvin (Judy) Weber, of Cedar Rapids, Richard (Janet) Weber, of Central City, Beverly Voelker, of Marion, Gene (Marsha) Weber, of Clovis, N.M., and Delbert (Mary) Weber, of Mechanicsville; in-laws, Alvera Weber, of Manchester, Joan (Larry) Stoneking, of Monticello, Lila Clemen and Vera Kroeger, both of Dyersville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alfred in 2008; sons, Jim and Don in 2005, and Tom Klostermann in 2017; siblings, Lester Weber and Ralph Weber; in-laws, Marilyn Weber, Lee Voelker, Vince Clemen, Gary Kroeger, Art (Verna) Klostermann, Ruth (Joe) Lansing, Rita (Jim) Deutmeyer and Virginia Klostermann in infancy.
The family wishes to thank the staffs at Ellen Kennedy Living Center, Northbrook Manor Care Center and Hospice of Mercy for their compassionate care of Mom over the last few years.
