Sister Margaret (Armand) Galm died on Sunday, May 5, 2019, at Clare House.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, May 10, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. in Francis Chapel at Mount St. Francis Center. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2019, with a funeral vigil at 7:00 p.m. in Francis Chapel.
Sister Margaret was born on June 24, 1923, in Moneta, Iowa, to John and Amalie (Schafer) Galm.
She entered the Sisters of St. Francis on August 24, 1941, and made final profession of vows August 10, 1947. Sister received her master’s degree from Loras College, Dubuque. She ministered in Iowa as an educator at St. Benedict, Bancroft, Leeds, North Washington, Granville, Hospers, Pocahontas, Spencer, and West Bend and at Crescent City in California.
Sister is survived by her sister Ruth Tewes; brother Bernard Galm; sister-in-laws Delores Ransom and Joyce Thomsen, nieces and nephews, and her Franciscan sisters with whom she shared over 76 years of her life.
Sister was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Herman, Edwin (Dorothy), Paul, and John (Sybil) Galm and brother-in-law Delmar Tewes.
Memorials may be given to the Sisters of St. Francis.
