HARVEY HOWARD BRIGGS

Harvey Howard Briggs, age 61, died at 6 p.m. Thursday at his home in Epworth. Although he had been ill for five years, his death was unexpected.

Friends may call after 7 p.m. Friday at the Haudenshield Funeral Home, in Epworth. The funeral will be held, at a time to be announced, to the Methodist Church. Burial will be in Highview Cemetery, Epworth.

Mr. Briggs was born July 24, 1891, at Epworth, and had lived there all his life. He was a member of the Epworth Methodist Episcopal Church, the Berean Class of the church, and the Dubuque County Farm Bureau. He was a former member of the Epworth School Board.

Surviving are a son, Howard Briggs, Epworth; his mother, Della Briggs, Epworth; two brothers, George Briggs of Pomona, Calif., and Wilson Briggs of Hopkinton, Iowa, and a granddaughter, Linda Lee Briggs, Epworth. His wife died Nov. 9, 1952.
