DEATH OF MARGARET ESSON

On Thursday morning our citizens were startled by the announcement of the death of Mrs. Margaret Esson, widow of the late David Esson, of this place. Mrs. Esson’s maiden name was Margaret Rose, a native of Scotland, and was born Feb. 22, 1807. She came to America and joined the Selkirk colonist in British America, and was married to David Esson in Lord Selkirk Settlement, Sept. 1, 1829. In 1855, she accompanied her husband to Cascade, and has since resided here up to the time of her death. Mrs. Esson was an amiable and intelligent lady and a true Christian woman in every respect. The funeral took place today at 11 o’clock a.m.
