Eva was born on January 16, 1920, in Frankfort, Indiana. She grew up on a farm near Hoopeston, Illinois, with her parents, Walter and Maude (Robbins) Sharon, where she enjoyed horseback riding, field work and helping with the animals. This led to a lifelong love for animals and nature.

After graduating from St. Elizabeth Regional Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana, in 1942, she worked for various hospitals in Indiana and Michigan, including Charlevoix and Northern Michigan Regional Hospital. In her later career, she specialized on an IV Therapy team. Following her retirement in 1991, Eva volunteered in many organizations until June 2012. Eva was a member of Eastern Star, White Shrine Patrol, an auxiliary member for the Ice Capades, Girl Scout leader and a member of the Western Michigan Emmaus Organization. She attended St. Luke United Methodist Church and Pathways Baptist Church in Dubuque and was a member of Parr Memorial Baptist Church in Petoskey.

Eva was a multi-talented woman with many interests, including playing piano and singing in the church choir and dancing. She also loved to bowl, golf, sew, garden, read and be active in the church. Her passions in life were being a Christian and making the day a little easier for others.

She is survived by her daughter, Terrie Jo (Quakenbush) Berry. Eva was a strong, Christian woman whose independent spirit will be missed.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents; her former husband, Howard Quakenbush; and her son in law, Roy Berry.
