William G. Schulte,77, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 1996, in Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Iowa City, after a short illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, St. Mary's Catholic Church, by the Rev. Ralph Simington. Burial: St. Boniface Cemetery, New Vienna, with military rites. The family will greet friends after 2 p.m. Friday at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home, Manchester, where a rosary begins at 4 p.m. Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Survivors include his wife, Anna; and two brothers, Leo of Guttenberg and James of Masonville.
Also surviving are five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; a son, Norman Clifton Schulte, on Dec. 13, 1993; and a grandson.
Born Jan. 5, 1919, in New Vienna, to Henry and Agatha (Hager) Schulte, he married Anna Becker on July 3, 1943, in Leavenworth, Kan. William served in the Army during World War II. He was a farmer for 20 years, was employed by Hendersons for 20 years and also hauled milk. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, American Legion Post 45 and VFW Post 6637.
A memorial fund has been established.
