DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Robert B. "Papa" Lott, 86 of Dyersville, died Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, at his residence, following a long illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Kingdom Ministries, Dubuque, with Pastor Cecelia Lott officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, Friends also may call after 9 a.m. Friday at the Kingdom Ministries, 962 Main in Dubuque. The Kramer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lott was a construction worker and helped to build the John Hancock building in Chicago. He also was a farmer in Hopkins Park, Ill., for several years.

He was born on Dec. 26, 1919, in Greenwood, Miss., son of Bishop Lott Sr. and Annie Nelson. He married Emily Victoria Reid on Oct. 17, 1945, in Chicago.

Throughout his life, he was a very hard worker and provider for both his children and grandchildren. Daddy was our hero in every kind of way.

Papa Lott lived a good, long life and went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 12, 2006.

Surviving are his wife, Emily V. Lott, of Dyersville; three daughters, Joann (Leo) Lynch, Bobie William and Cecelia (Leroy Palmer) Lott, all of Dubuque; four sons, Charles (Loretta) Lott, of Momence, Ill., Michael (Allison) Lott, David (Julie) Lott and Wayne (Paula) Lott, all of Dubuque; four brothers, James Lott and Bishop Lott III, of Memphis, Tenn., Willie Lott, of Greenwood Miss., and Harry Lott, of Nork, N.J.; two sisters, Annie Dean Ham, of Detroit, and Baby Ruth Lupkin, of Memphis; and 36 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Bishop Lott II.
