DYERSVILLE, Iowa - Marcella V. Deutmeyer, 95, of Dyersville, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2005, at Oak Crest Manor, Dyersville.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, with the Rev. Jerry Kopacek officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 4 p.m.

She was born on Nov. 7, 1909, in Dyersville, daughter of Nicholas and Anna (Loeser) Nachtman.

She married Albert H. Deutmeyer on Jan. 24, 1933, in Dyersville; he preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 1994. They farmed in the Dyersville area until their retirement in 1969.

Marcella loved her grandchildren, gardening, cooking, sewing and playing cards.

Surviving are three daughters, Wilma (Louis) Berns and Theresa (Elmer) Bries, both of Monona, and Betty (Floyd) Westhoff, of Guttenberg; two sons, John (Joyce Wegmann) Deutmeyer, of Worthington, and Jerry (Alice Mensen) Deutmeyer, of Dyersville; 27 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren; and in-laws, Delores Deutmeyer and Doris Deutmeyer, both of Dyersville, and Bill and Rosie Deppe and Rita Klostermann, all of Manchester.

She also was preceded in death by a grandson, Tim Berns; two great-grandsons, Paul Crow and Taylor Lee; and two brothers, Edmund and Cletus Nachtman.

The family wishes to thank Oak Crest Manor in Dyersville and Hospice for their kindness and care shown to Marcella.
