WORTHINGTON, Iowa - Juanita J. "Nita" Ostwinkle, 52, of Worthington, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center-Dyersville, following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Worthington, with the Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday at Kramer Funeral Home, Dyersville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 5 p.m., and a Rosary Society rosary at 4 p.m.

She was born on April 12, 1952, in Dubuque, daughter of Ernest and Del Rose (Tobin) Ostwinkle.

She graduated from Western Dubuque High School with the class of 1970, and began working for the Ertl (toy) Co. and later Racing Champions until she became disabled.

Nita enjoyed and was talented at many types of crafts. She could paint, sew or crochet just about anything you could imagine. She also enjoyed gardening and shopping.

Surviving are her mother, Del Rose Ostwinkle, of Worthington; four brothers, Michael "Mickey" (Jayne) and Darryl, both of Worthington, Dennis (friend, Sandy Sheib), of Richland, and Dean (Deb), of Hopkinton; a sister-in-law, Julie Ostwinkle, of Worthington; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest, in 1974; and a brother, Ronald, in 1998.

A memorial fund has been established and memorials are preferred.
