Richard Peter Young, 52, of 4052 Flamingo Drive, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2006, at home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Dubuque Memorial Gardens, south of Dubuque. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hoffmann Schneider and Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, where there will be a wake service at 3 p.m.

Mr. Young was a machine operator at Morrison Bros. Co.

He was born on Sept. 29, 1954, at Mercy Hospital, Madison, Wis., son of Richard W. and Marilyn (Kohl) Young. He married Julie Stecklein on July 14, 1990, in Dubuque.

He was an Army veteran, having served in Germany.

Richard enjoyed NASCAR, Harley's, pool, the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Cubs.

He loved his family and had a good sense of humor.

Surviving are his wife, Julie Young, of Dubuque; a son, Tony Young, of Dubuque; a daughter, Nicole McLaughlin, of Dubuque; his parents, Richard W. and Rena E. Young, of Monroe, Wis.; 11 brothers and sisters; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn Young, in 1968; and his grandparents.

A Richard P. Young Memorial Fund has been established.
