Raymond P. Schuster, 76, Julien Inn, 200 Main St., formerly of 1487 Allison St., died at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, 1998, at the Julien Inn.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, with burial in Dubuque Memorial Gardens south of Dubuque. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Schuster worked at Klauer Manufacturing Co. for 10 years prior to his retirement in 1988, and before that worked for the former Caradco Inc. for 28 years.

He was born Jan. 5, 1922, in New Vienna, son of John S. and Mary (Wendler) Schuster. He married Shirley M. Schmitt on Sept. 17, 1949, at St. Raphael's Cathedral.

He was a member of the Nativity Catholic Church, I.A.M. Union Local 1238 and was a World War II veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley M. (Schmitt) Schuster; a daughter, Judy Schuster (her fiancee, Steve Meyers), of Dubuque; two sons, Kevin J. Schuster, of Dubuque and Michael R. (friend, Veronica Hill) Schuster, of Amado, Ariz; four grandchildren, Jeremy, Brooke, Carolanne and De Etta Schuster; two brothers, Melvin (Rita) Schuster, of Dubuque and Bob (Norma) Schuster, of Marion, Iowa; and two sisters, Armella (Ed) Kern and Germaine (Butch) Friedman, both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Memorials may be given to Hospice of Dubuque.
