Mrs. Joseph (Geraldine M. "Gerry") Clancy, 66, of 3525 Crescent Ridge, died peacefully Friday May 13, 2005, at home, following a long battle with cancer.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hoffmann Schneider and Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road. Burial will be in Dubuque Memorial Gardens, south of Dubuque. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Organization of the Eagles will gather for a memorial service at 6 p.m.

Mrs. Clancy cooked at Wartburg Seminary for several years. She also owned and operated Gerry's Shoe Repair for 18 years. Until recently, she worked at Younkers Department Store.

She was born on Feb. 1, 1939, in Bellevue, Iowa, daughter of Herman and Jenevive (Kramer) Thies. She married Joseph Clancy on Aug. 11, 1990, in Dubuque.

She graduated from Marquette High School, Bellevue.

She was an avid horseback rider. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She was past president of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and a member of the Bellevue Horseman's club.

Surviving are her husband, Joseph Clancy, of Dubuque; her mother, Jenevive Thies; three sons, Robert (Kathy) Julson, of Milan, Ill., and Alan (fiancee, Kim Kearney) Julson and Glen (Norene Dole) Julson, both of Dubuque; two brothers, Orville (Jane) Thies, of Dubuque, and David (Donna) Thies, of Moline, Ill.; and nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, eight stepchildren and 18 stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father; her first husband, William Julson; and a stepchild, Chad Seastrand.

Memorials may be given to Hospice of Dubuque.
