Mrs. Albert W. "Rooster" (Barbara J.) Clark, 73, of Stonehill Care Center, formerly of 3525 Windsor Ave., Apt. 120, and 301 Jones St., passed away at 8:43 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, at Stonehill.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23, at Linwood Cemetery. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. today at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St.

She was born on Jan. 30, 1936, in Newton, Ill., daughter of Kendall M. and Edna I. (Brooks) Romack. She married Albert W. "Rooster" Clark on Feb. 5, 1951, in Dubuque; he preceded her in death on July 28, 1996.

Barb was a homemaker all of her life, but also worked at Headstart, Dubuque Country Club, Trausch Bakery and as a housekeeper at Medical Associates Clinic.

Barb was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She loved cooking, gardening, making Barbie doll clothes, sewing, quilting, family picnics and Sunday dinners. Her greatest joy were her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are seven children, Edna (Barry) Riggs and Rita (Tom) Sutter, both of Dubuque, Jim (Arla) Clark, of Wyoming, Iowa, Mary (Hal) Ryan, of Tacoma, Wash., Carol Meyer, Tom (Connie) Clark and George Clark, all of Dubuque; 19 grandchildren, Keith, Michael, Anne, Michelle, Matthew, John, Jennifer, Heather, Kendall, Chris, Amy, Jason, Bart, Emilee, Brenton, Ashley, Krystle, Austin and Olivia; 24 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; a brother, Jim Romack, of Tucson, Ariz.; four sisters-in-law, Rita (Henry) Lund, of Chimacum, Wash., Mary Ann Huseman, of Dubuque, Grace Leppert, of Bellevue, Iowa, and Mary (Louis) Clark, of Dubuque; a brother-in-law, George Clark, of Libby, Mont.; nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Kelly.

She also was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, a Barbara J. Clark Memorial Fund has been established.
