Ione A. Oberbroeckling, 92, of Stonehill Care Center, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at Stonehill.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, at Siegert-Casper Colonial Funeral Home and Crematory, 390 N. Grandview Ave. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

She was born on Aug. 11, 1920, in Tomah, Wis., daughter of Herman and Augusta (Reetz) Neuendorf. She married Arthur Oberbroeckling on April 25, 1942, at Dubuque Bible Church; he preceded her in death on June 12, 1996, after 54 years of marriage.

Ione established Oney's Cakes in 1962, which was operated by her family for 33 years. For the past 30 years, she pursued her career in porcelain painting with her sister, Helen.

Ione had a very creative mind and appreciated all things beautiful, especially flowers in all its forms.

She was a charter member of Dubuque Bible Church.

Surviving are her children, Sally (David) Redenius, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Thomas (Linda) Oberbroeckling, of Anamosa, Iowa, and Sharon Schwartz, of Dubuque; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and six nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; and a daughter, Candice, in infancy.

An Ione Oberbroeckling Memorial Fund has been established.
