Dubuque Daily Times-Journal - December 27, 1909

William H. Tuthill, a pioneer resident of this city, died on a street car Monday Morning about 7:15 o'clock while on his way to work. Death was due to a stroke of apoplexy and his fellow passengers believed he had only fainted until a physician into his office he was carried pronounced him dead. Mr. Tuthill had been troubled with his heart for a year or more and complained frequently the past two weeks, although he has been able to attend to his work at the H. B. Glover Co. William H. Tuthill, was a private in the United States Signal Corps. He enrolled March 26, 1864 at Stoneham, Massachusetts, and was discharged August 22, 1865 at New Orleans, Louisiana.
