Marion L. Van Pelt, 83, of Luther Manor, formerly of 1800 W. Third St., died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 1997, at Luther Manor.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Columbkille's Catholic Church, Dubuque, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West, Iowa. Friends may call from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ed Siegert-Al Didesch Colonial Funeral Home, 390 N. Grandview.

Marion was employed as a librarian at Loras College for 21 years, prior to her retirement.

She was born on July 17, 1913, in Des Moines, daughter of George and Catherine (Nillis) Van Pelt.

She graduated from Loras College and was a member of St. Columbkille's Catholic Church, its rosary society and the American Business Women's Association.

Surviving are a sister, Margaret Mary Van Pelt, of Dubuque; and a niece, Darlene Nillis, of East Dubuque, Ill.

A Marion Van Pelt Memorial Fund has been established.
