Telegraph-Herald on Monday, February 14, 1916.

Death of Patrick McGreavey occurred Monday morning at 7:55 o’clock at the family residence, 212 Valley Street, after a three month illness. The deceased was born in Dubuque fifty-eight years ago and was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John McGreavey, pioneers of this city. His parents moved on a farm in Prairie Creek Township when he was a little boy and he spent the greater part of his life in the country. For the past several years he has made his home in Dubuque.

His mother died Jan. 29th, and her body is interred at the Monastery cemetery Sunday, having been kept at the receiving vault at Mt. Olivet owing to the bad conditions of the roads.

Three sisters survive him, Miss Lizzie and Mrs. Lou Graver, of Dubuque, and Mrs. Peter Duschen of Bernard, also several nieces and nephews. Mr. McGreavey was a man of kindly disposition whose charity knew no bounds. He was a faithful friend and neighbor and his death brings sorrow to many friends. The funeral will be held from St. Columbkille’s Church at 9 o’clock Wednesday morning with interment besides his parents in the Monastery cemetery.
