DEATH OF JOHN SADLER

The people of Dubuqe were shocked, on Sunday evening, learning of the death of John Sadler, which occured at his residence, on Sunday afternoon. He was an Englishmen by birth, about 36 years old, and leaves a wife and two children: a boy about four years old and a daughter about 12. He served in the war in the 12th Iowa Infantry, and during his service he contracted a disease, which afterwards changed into consumption, assuming a droposical form at the time of death. He was only confined to his bed about three days, but has been unable to attend to business for several weeks. He has been receiving a pension from the government, which comprised his principal means of subsistence. The pension will continue to the widow and the children.

He was buried in Linwood Cemetery at 3 p.m. yesterday, the funeral services being conducted by Dr. Bingham of the Congregational Church, of which the deceased was a member. Caleb Sadler, now in California, is a brother to John Sadler. Their parents formerly resided her but returned to England, some time ago, where they died.
