Mary C. Shanahan, 90, a resident of Rose Haven Care Center, Marengo, formerly of La Motte, Dubuque and Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 1994, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, after a long illness. Services: 3 p.m. Tuesday, St. Joseph's the Worker Catholic Church, Dubuque, by Monsignor David Wheeler. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery, Dubuque. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, where a wake service begins at 7 p.m.

Survivors include a daughter, Sally Loney and husband Gary of Cedar Rapids; two grandsons, Brad and Brian Loney, both of Cedar Rapids; and a sister-in-law, Mary Nestor of Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Wilfred Nestor.

Mary was born Sept. 10, 1903, in La Motte, to Sylvester and Sarah Hayes Nestor, and married John Shanahan on July 21, 1926, in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, La Motte. He died in 1980. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids.

A memorial fund has been established.
