MOTHER GERTRUDE CALLED

Mother Gertrude, of Mercy hospital, died Saturday, Nov. 15, after an illness of several months.

She was born Oct. 22, 1866, in Table Mound township, Dubuque county, and was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary Powers.

She entered the novitiate November 1, 1887, and received final orders two years later. The past number of years she has been head of the hospital.

The deceased is survived by two brothers, Thomas and John Powers, and three sisters, Mrs. Kyne, Mrs. Gertrude Fagan, and Sister M. Everista.

The funeral was held Monday morning and burial took place at Mt. Olivet.
