HOLY CROSS, Iowa - Theresa M. Gansemer, 78, of 21747 Park Hollow Road, Holy Cross, Iowa, died Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at 10:30 p.m. at UnityPoint Heath-Finley Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa, surrounded by family.

Friends and relatives of Theresa may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 26, 2015, at the Reiff Funeral Home in Epworth, IA, where a wake service will be held at 2:00 p.m.

Services for Theresa will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2015, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Rickardsville, IA, with the Rev. Noah Diehm officiating. Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Rickardsville, IA.

Theresa was born June 1, 1936, in Delhi, Iowa, daughter of John and Veronica (Jaeger) Bergfeld. She received her education in the rural Bernard area schools. On April 23, 1957, she was united in marriage to Clement E. Gansemer at St. Joseph's Prairie in rural Dubuque, Iowa. He preceded her in death on June 28, 2007.

She is a member of St. Joseph's Parish in Rickardsville, a member of its Altar and Rosary Society and the Rickardsville Catholic Order of Foresters Court #774.

She is survived by six children, Francis Gansemer (& Friend, Angela Woods), of Dubuque, IA, Judy (Gerald E.) Breitsprecker, of Lancaster, WI, Janet Engelken (& friend, Kenny Ruden), of Rickardsville, IA, Joan (Porfirio) Fuentes, of Starkville, MS, Jane Geselbracht (& friend, "Ike" Eigenburger), and Jody (Merlin) Tucker, both of Rickardsville, IA; 23 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; three siblings, George (Joanne) Bergfeld, of Peosta, IA, Julie (Elmer) Schumann, of Dyersville, IA, and Danny (Dianne) Bergfeld, of Bernard, IA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley Bergfeld, of Dubuque, IA, Helen Gansemer, of Dubuque, IA, Eileen (Florian "Tex") Winter, of St. Lucas, IA,

She is also preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Darlene (Joe) Dolanc, Gladys (Jack) Kress and a sister in infancy; and three brothers, John Bergfeld, Leo Bergfeld and Edwin (Juanita) Bergfeld; a brother-in-law, Albert Gansemer.

A Theresa M. Gansemer memorial fund has been established.
