SHERRILL, Iowa - Mrs. Herman H. (Marie G.) Gansemer, 65, 23001 Finleys Landing Road, rural Sherrill, died at 8:13 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 1997, at The Finley Hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Sherrill, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, where there will be a Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church Christian wake service at 5 p.m.

Mrs. Gansemer and her husband farmed in the rural Sherrill area from 1958-84, when they semi-retired.

She was born on June 2, 1931, in Amber, daughter of Theodore and Molly (Harms) Osterkamp. She married Herman H. Gansemer on Jan. 8, 1952, at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Sherrill.

She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Sherrill, and the Gold Rush Square Dance Club. Quilting, crocheting and flowers were the loves of her pastime.

Surviving are her husband, Herman H. Gansemer; a son, Ronald H. (Delores) Gansemer, of Sherrill; two daughters, Kathy T. (Del) Winter, and Joan M. Winter, both of Dubuque; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Loretta Watters, of Dubuque, and Annette Waller, of La Motte; and six brothers, Harry Osterkamp, of Guttenberg, Carl and Jim Osterkamp, both of Bakersfield, Mo., Matthew Osterkamp, of Grand Bay, Ala., Albert "Skip" Osterkamp, of Peosta, and Bill Osterkamp, of Center Junction.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to the Marie G. Gansemer Memorial Fund.
