PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - Services for Christina B. Gansemer, 88, of Platteville, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Platteville. The Rev. Kevin Dooley will officiate.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call from 1:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Mergen-Boll Funeral Home, Platteville, where there will be a parish scripture service at 4:30 p.m.

Christina B. Gansemer was born on Feb. 14, 1907, in Rickardsville, Iowa, daughter of Jacob and Margaret (Breitbach) Stoffel. She died Sunday afternoon, Feb. 4, 1996, at Southwest Health Center, Platteville.

She attended school at Rickardsville. She married George G. Gansemer on Oct. 18, 1932, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Rickardsville.

They farmed in the Five Points area until 1956, when they moved to Platteville. They retired from farming in 1973.

Christina was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Council of Catholic Women. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, crossword puzzles and the outdoors, especially her flowers. Christina was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving are five daughters, Mary (Dale) Rupp, of Platteville, Donita (Lloyd) Clendenen, of Dubuque, Ann (Jerome) Adams, of Cuba City, Joyce (Kenneth) Schmitt and Carol (Nick) Schmitt, both of Sherrill, Iowa; a son, Robert (Bonnie) Gansemer, of Platteville; 32 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Berniece (Clarence) Meyer, of Dubuque; and two brothers, George (Berniece) Stoffel, of Dubuque, and Sylvester (Lee Mae) Stoffel, of Rickardsville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George; a daughter, Dorothy Schrobilgen; one granddaughter; two great-grandsons; three sisters, Clara Klein, Anna Brehm and Cecilia Loch; and six brothers, Peter, Jacob, Matt, Alphonse, John and Frank Stoffel.

A Christina B. Gansemer Memorial Fund has been established.
