Edith M. "Edie" Oldham-Schon, 81, of 895 Kane St., died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at home.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Nativity Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Gardens Mausoleum at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, where the Catholic Daughters of the Americas will lead the rosary at 11 a.m.

Mrs. Oldham-Schon worked at Kretchmer Insurance Agency, Little Cloud Girl Scout Council and Armstrong's.

She was born on Aug. 1, 1923, in Dubuque, daughter of Benjamin and Marie (Rooney) Kolfenbach. She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1941.

She married Francis "Joe" Oldham on Oct. 8, 1949; he died on Feb. 1, 1991. She later married Francis "Bud" Schon on Oct. 21, 1995; he died on Dec. 27, 2004.

She was a member of Nativity Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Dubuque Guild 1287 and the National Rosary Society.

She had many lifelong friends in Dubuque who were a very important part of her life.

Surviving are two children, Mary Ann Oldham, of Coon Rapids, Minn., and James (Vickie) Oldham, of Dubuque; two grandchildren, Heather and Chad (Amy) Oldham; a great-granddaughter, Camber Oldham; two sisters, Virginia Kolfenbach and Jeanette Kolfenbach, both of Dubuque; two brothers-in-law, Paul (Janet) Oldham, of Algona, Iowa, and Al (Marian) Oldham, of Billings, Mont.; and four sisters-in-law, Darlene Oldham, of Dubuque, Peg Oldham, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Cathy (Larry) Phearman, of Mason City, Iowa, and Imelda (Chuck) Housh, of Monee, Ill.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Loretta Kolfenbach.

An Edith Oldham-Schon Memorial Fund has been established.

The family would like to thank Cathy Phearman for all of her support and the nurses and staff at Hospice of Dubuque for all of their loving care.
