Myrtle A. Noel, 81, of 2711 Elm St., died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, at Ennoble Manor Care Center, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, where there will be a scripture wake service at 4:30 p.m.

Mrs. Noel worked at the former Dubuque Packing Co. for more than 25 years until her retirement.

She was born on Jan. 11, 1918, in Dubuque, daughter of Albert and Eldora (Kascel) Flick. She married Leonard Noel on Jan. 20, 1942, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church; he died Dec. 25, 1985.

She was a lifelong member of Holy Ghost Parish and a member of its rosary and altar society. She was a volunteer at Stonehill Care Center for many years. She will be remembered as a loving mother, who gave many years of care and support to her parents and to her family.

Surviving are two daughters, Jan (Paul) Steinberger, of Oconowoc, Wis., and Jill (James) Siegert, of Kansas City, Mo.; a son, John Jay Noel, of Dubuque; two grandsons, Todd and Seth Siegert, both of Kansas City; a sister, Sister Marie RSM, of Detroit; and a brother, Lyle Flick, of Seattle, Wash.

She also was preceded in death by a son, Clay, on May 20, 1981; a grandson, Josh Siegert, on July 13, 1985; sisters, Marie Zwack, Bernice Strueber and Helen Schweigert; and brothers, Walter and Lester Flick.
