Mrs. Mary A. Brown, 76, died suddenly at her home south of Peosta Saturday at noon.

The funeral will be held Monday morning from the family home to the Holy Family Church at the Monastery, where a mass of requiem will be read at 9 o’clock. Burial will be made in the monastery cemetery.

Mrs. Brown, a daughter of the late William and Catherine Hurley Walsh, was born in New York City 76 years ago. When a few months old her parents moved to Iowa and she has lived the rest of her life in this state. Mrs. Brown was a lifelong member of the Catholic faith and attended the Holy Family Church. She was a member of the Rosary Society and the Married Ladies’ Society of that parish. Her life was marked by the untiring and unstinting devotion which she gave to her family.

She is survived by three sons, William, at home; Leo A. and Bud, Peosta; six daughters, May and Regina at home; Mrs. C. Burds, Bernard; Mrs. George Sloan and Rets J. Brown, R. N., Freeport; two sisters, Sister Mary Sebos, Chicago and Mrs. Marie F. Walsh, Honds, Calif.; one brother, William Walsh, Bernard; twenty-two grandchildren. Her husband Ambrose Brown, died 23 years ago, one daughter died infancy, and another daughter, Mrs. Loretta McGovern, died in 1919.
