Sandy was born on November 17, 1935, in Dubuque, daughter of George B. and Coletta E. (Holz) Schumacher.

Sandy was employed at Morrison Brothers as a comptroller for over 22 years, until her retirement. First and foremost, it must be stated that Sandy's primary focus in this life was that of a mother and grandmother. Her unwavering adoration for her family could never be adequately depicted in words. There was never a doubt in the minds of those who held a special place in her heart of her unconditional love for them. Secondly, we must admire Sandy's desire to experience life to it's fullest. She was a world traveler and her travels took her to Russia, Japan, Brazil, Poland, Turkey, Whitby Island, China, Chile, Argentina, New Zealand, Korea, Mexico and Egypt was her favorite because she traveled with her daughter. She was also a history buff and genealogy guru who found great joy in sharing her experiences with others through stories and photos. Sandy was known to spend her free time embracing technology, shopping, gardening and occasionally finding a treasure at a garage sale. She was a vibrant member of the Friendship Force, the Red Hat Ladies and a longtime faithful member of St. Joseph the Worker. Sandy's life was abundantly full and to have had the opportunity to share it with her was an absolute blessing to all who knew and loved her. Sandy's words of wisdom, "leave nothing unsaid and finish your bucket list," she topped hers off by sky diving at 70, "live life to the fullest."

Sandy is survived by her 4 loving children, Richard Saul, Kendalville, IN, Michael Saul, Minneapolis, MN, Cynthia Sindt, Pasadena, TX, Nick (Allison) Saul, Polk City, IA; 7 grandchildren, Joshua Saul, Carly Luetzelschwab, Thomas Saul, Jordan Saul, Jena Sindt, Austin Saul and Grant Saul; 5 great-grandchildren, Aidan, Owen, Abigail, Ryan and Alexis; 2 brothers, George (Stacey) Schumacher, Glendale, CA, and Dale (Vickie) Schumacher, Santa Maria, CA.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Dave Sindt; and an aunt, Bea Holz.

A Sandra J. "Sandy" Saul memorial fund has been established.

Sandy's family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Dubuque Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Hospice of Dubuque for all their tender care and comfort.
