The funeral of the late L. A. Rhomberg Sunday afternoon gave evidence of the esteem in which the deceased was held and the great sympathy which is held for his bereaved family. There was over 100 vehicles in the cortege. The services at St. Mary’s church were conducted by Rev. Father Johannes. The church was crowded during the sad and solemn offices. The funeral was under the auspices of the German Catholic Benevolent Society, which furnished the pallbearers. The Sharpshooters and other organizations, with which deceased was connected, were well represented. Interment was in the German Catholic Cemetery.

Beautiful and profuse floral offerings were laid upon the bier, many being sent from friends outside the city.

Among those from out of town who attended the funeral were Mr. Charles Williams, Miss Emma Williams and Sarah, Miss Dowlan, St. Paul; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Well, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. John Fitz, Freeport; Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Von Alstein, Sanborn; Mr. J. Sohm, Calumet.
