Rev. Father Flynn, pastor of St. Patrick’s Church, officiated at the funeral services of Thomas Walsh Friday afternoon. He delivered a short sermon, taking occasion to speak of the deceased as one who has hastened to the defense of his country when it was in danger, and who served it faithfully and well. He said he was a brave solider and honorable man throughout his life. The reverend gentlemen spoke eloquently and feelingly of the old solider who had marched with Sherman to the sea, and who had risked his life in many battles.
