John Simpson, 84, retired Epworth farmer, died at 8:15 p.m. Friday at Finely Hospital. He had been ill for two weeks.
Friends may call after noon Sunday at the Haudenshield Funeral Home, Epworth. Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday to Epworth Methodist Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Epworth.
Mr. Simpson was born Dec. 21, 1868, at Epworth and lived there all his life. He retired as a farmer seven years ago.
He was a member of the Epworth Methodist Church, of the Berean class of the church, and Epworth’s Odd Fellow’s Lodge and a Dubuque County Farm Bureau director.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Carl (Ruby) Felt, Catham, N. J., and Mrs. Clint (Evangeline) Varnum of Clarksville, Iowa; four grandchildren; a brother, Howard Simpson, of Epworth, and a sister, Mrs. C. S. Buck, Winter Park, Fla. His wife died Dec. 15, 1951.
