Peter J. Reiter, 93, of ManorCare Health Services, formerly of 1502 Lincoln Ave., died at 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 1998, at ManorCare.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, with entombment in Resurrection Garden Mausoleum at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., where there will be a parish wake service at 7 p.m.

Mr. Reiter worked at the former Farley and Loetscher Manufacturing Co. for more than 45 years, retiring as a supervisor in 1970.

He was born on March 24, 1905, in New Vienna, Iowa, son of Nicholas and Elizabeth (Greuneisen) Reiter. He married Marie Theobald on June 9, 1927, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

He formerly was an active member of Sacred Heart Parish, where he served as an usher for more than 23 years and was past president of the holy name society. He currently was a member of Holy Trinity Parish. He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Peter was a devoted husband for more than 71 years to his wife, Marie. He also was devoted to his children and grandchildren. Peter enjoyed working in his yard.

Surviving are his wife, Marie Reiter; two daughters, Jean M. (Jerry) Pleimling, of Dubuque, and Mickey E. (Al) Lolwing, of Chicago; a son, David P. (Mary Lou) Reiter, of Dubuque; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, George (Marie) Reiter, of Dubuque; and a sister-in-law, Martha Burger, of Dubuque.

He was preceded in death by a son, Paul F. Reiter, on Feb. 7, 1987; two sisters; and six brothers.

Memorials may be given to Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Power of Prayer.
