Peter Theobald, 84, of 2408 Queen St., was pronounced dead on arrival at Xavier Hospital Saturday afternoon after he was stricken while at a Dubuque doctor’s office. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Sunday at the Hoffmann Mortuary. Services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. Fred Kriebs pastor will offer the Requiem High Mass. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The Catholic Order Foresters, Sacred Heart Holy Name Society and the St. Aloysius Society will recite the rosary at 8 p.m. Sunday.

He was born in Alsace-Lorraine. He lived his adult life in Dubuque. He was a retired Milwaukee Road employee. He was a member of the COF Marquette Court, the Sacred Heart Church and its Holy Name Society, the St. Aloysius Society and the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Peter J. Reiter and Mrs. Harvey J. Burger, both of Dubuque; one son, Edward P. Theobald, Milwaukee; one brother, Joseph Theobald, Dubuque; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Miller, Dubuque; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
