Walter Mengis died at the family residence, 1443 Maple Street, Friday evening at 10:30 o'clock, after a short illness. He was born in this city July 25, 1875, and resided here his entire lifetime. He was married to Miss Catherine Rhomberg, who, with five daughters, Mrs. Joseph Baumgartner, Mrs. Tom Powers, Mrs. George Lannon, Catherine and Dorothy, at home, two sons, Herbert and Walter, all of this city; three sons preceded him in death. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and died with the last rites of the religion.

The funeral will be held from the home, 1443 Maple Street, Tuesday morning to St. Mary's Church at 9 o'clock. Burial will be made in Linwood Cemetery.
