MRS. MARY OSWALD

Mrs. Mary Oswald, 92, a resident of Our Lady of Lourdes Home, 75 West Seventeenth Street, died at Our Lady of Lourdes Sunday morning at 8:45 o’clock after a one year’s illness.

The body may be viewed at the Didesch Funeral Home and the funeral will be from the funeral home to St. Catherine’s Church Wednesday morning at a time to be announced later. Burial will be in St. Catherine’s Cemetery.

She was born in Massey, Ia., March 26, 1851, a daughter of Frank and Magdeline Meyers Noel. She lived at St. Catherine’s nearly all her life, coming to Dubuque five years ago. Mrs. Oswald was a member of the Catholic Church and St. Catherine’s Rosary Society.

Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. John (Regina) Mitchell and Mrs. Charles (Minnie) Gassmann, both of Dubuque, Mrs. Magdeline Brown, Emery, S. D., Mrs. John (Mamie) Hilkin, St. Catherine’s, Mrs. Tony (Catherine) Hilkin, Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. John (Josephine) Forrett, Janesville, Wis.; one son, John Oswald, Chicago, Ill.; 45 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Stoffell and Mrs. Magdeline Manhart, both of Dubuque; and two brothers, Anthony Noel and Frank Noel, both of this city.

She was preceded in death by her husband, 48 years ago; one son; and two daughters.
