Rosemary E. (Pfiffner) Noonan

Rosemary E. (Pfiffner) Noonan, 90, of Dubuque, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am Saturday, April 30, 2016 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Family will greet friends from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, April 29, 2016 at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Rd, with a 6:30 pm Scripture Service. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Rosemary was born March 31, 1926 in Dubuque, the daughter of Leo and Josephine (Frohm) Pfiffner. She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy and married Paul A. Noonan on September 27, 1947 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church; he passed on July 30, 1986.

Rosemary was an executive secretary for over 30 years at ARC and for Goodwill Industries for 12 years before retiring at the age of 85.

She was a longtime member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, enjoyed reading, cards, and crocheting. Rosemary shared a strong faith, enjoyed spending time with her family and was always in attendance at her children's and grandchildren's events over the years. She never missed a birthday party or sending out cards to family and friends. Rosemary was sharp as a tack, accepted everyone she encountered throughout her life and had the strength of character that was admired by her children.

Survivors include her children, Linda (Jim) Somerville, Sandy Theisen, Bonnie (John) Steinz, Nancy Noonan, Dr. Gene (Robin) Noonan, and Scot (Laura) Noonan; 13 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ram, Dr. Stille, Dr. Schultz, Mercy Cardio vascular unit, and Mercy ICU for your care of our mother and grandmother during her illness.

Memorials may be directed to Dubuque Noon Lion's Club in Rosemary's memory.
