Robert L. Bills, Sr.

Chapel services for Robert L. Bills, 73, 14760 Duke Highway, Alva, Fla., formerly of Dubuque, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St.

Burial will be in Dubuque Memorial Gardens, south of Dubuque. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Bills formerly was employed as a foreman at the Pass & Seymour Co. in Solvay, N. Y., until his retirement.

He was born on Oct. 11, 1922, in Baldwinsville, N. Y., son of Wendell and Eva (Bloodgood) Bills. He died at 4:57 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 1996, at Columbia S. W. Regional Medical Center, Fort Myers, Fla.

He married Leona B. King on Nov. 27, 1954, in Sayre, Pa.

He served with the Army Air Force during World War II and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 6, of Dubuque, and the Senior Friends, Alva.

Surviving are his wife, Leona B. Bills; two daughters, Donna (Richard) Hollenback, of North Fort Myers, Fla., and Marlene Bills, of New York, N. Y., three sons, Kenneth Bills, of Baldwinsville, and Robert L. Bills, Jr., and Richard W. (Christine) Bills, both of Dubuque; and 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Walter (Mildred) Dunne and Mrs. Francis (Evelyn) Hubbard; and a brother, Franklin Bills.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.
