Brian Thomas Boland, 64, of Amarillo, TX died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010.Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Private burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Brian was born July 6, 1945, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Joseph and Fern Boland. He was the youngest of 15 children.

He married Shirley Kruser on Jan. 8, 1966, in Dubuque. They moved to Amarillo in 1976. He had worked on auto bodies since the age of 14 and continued that trade, as well as carpentry, for many years.

Brian Boland loved God, Jesus Christ and his family. He believed in blessing others and would give the coat off his own back if someone needed it.

He was a hard worker who lived by faith, never complained and trusted God for all things. His family is confident that he is reaping the benefits of his work on earth in heaven now. He will be dearly missed. He was a member of Victory Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Boland of Amarillo; three sons, Bryan Boland and wife Elisa and Eric Boland and wife Nicole, all of Amarillo, and Ed Boland and wife Lana of Panhandle; two daughters, Cheryl Ulch and husband Brian of Dallas, and Kelly Boland of Lubbock; nine grandchildren, Alex, Avery, Mitch, Ashley, Grason, Ryan, Ashlyn, Gavin and Bryce; his very special friends, Kenny and Jodie Striley and their children, Andrew, Madison and James, all of Amarillo.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
