Elaine R. Kruser, 88, of Dubuque, passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at Ennoble Manor.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, with Deacon Jim Thill officiating. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at the funeral home.

Elaine was born on Dec. 29, 1924, in Dubuque, daughter of Oscar and Josephine (Linden) Tigges. She married Charles Kruser on Nov. 26, 1946, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church.

She prayed the rosary and attended Mass at Ennoble.

Elaine enjoyed puzzles, playing cards, bingo and going to the casino, but most of all, she was a loving mother and grandmother.

Surviving are her husband, Charles; five children, Shirley Boland, of Amarillo, Texas, Darlene Thomas, of Dubuque, Charles (Wilma) Kruser, of Oelwein, Iowa, Raymond (Linda) Kruser, of Janesville, Wis., and Terrance (special friend, Rio) Kruser, of San Antonio, Texas;

16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; siblings, Arthur Tigges, of Dubuque, Joanie Klaas, of Cuba City, Wis., Katherine Young and Roger (Stella) Tigges, both of Dubuque; and a sister-in-law, Delores Tigges.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons-in-law, Brian Boland and Mark Thomas; siblings, Marlene (Gilbert) Naderman, Oscar Tigges Jr., Wilfred (Arla Mae) Tigges and Gerald (Stella) Tigges; a brother-in-law, John Klaas; and a sister in infancy.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Ronald Schope, Dr. Zhengjin Cao, Dr. William Dahl and their staffs and to Ennoble Manor for all their wonderful care and kindness they gave to Elaine.
