Arthur C. Tigges, 95 of Dubuque, Iowa went to be with the Lord on January 19th, 2016 at Dubuque Specialty Care.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road with Rev. Karen Candee officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call after 9:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Arthur was born on November 9, 1920 in Dubuque the son of Oscar and Josephine (Linden) Tigges.

He married Lela (Close) Feipel on June 3, 1961 and she preceded him in death on April 4, 2011. Art worked for the former Dubuque Packing Co for many years and was a member of the UFCW Local #150 A.

Music was a great part of Art's life. He played in many Dubuque groups and at many local dances, and was a member of the Musicians Union. In his later years he enjoyed walking at the Kennedy Mall.

He is survived by his children Richard "Dick" (Pat) Feipel of Dubuque, Barbara (Roger) Schueller of Sherrill, and David (Doris) Feipel of Dubuque, a son-in-law Ed Kieffer of Florida, 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, his siblings Catherine Young of Dubuque, Joan Klaas, of Cuba City and Roger (Stella) Tigges of Dubuque, and a brother-in law Chuck Kruser.

He was preceded in death by his wife a daughter Beverly, brothers Gerald, Oscar and Wilfred "Butch", Tigges and sisters Martha Tigges, Elaine Kruser, and Marlene Nadermann.

In lieu of flowers a Arthur Tigges memorial fund has been established.

The family would like to thank the staff at Dubuque Specialty Care and Hospice of Dubuque for the care they gave to Art.
