Services for Joseph L. Shireman, 62, 8369 Lake Eleanor Road, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St.

Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Shireman was formerly employed at Varner Well & Pump Co., retiring in 1984.

He was born on June 8, 1934, in Dubuque, son of Bernard and Grace (Kringle) Shireman. He died at 6:53 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 1996, at The Finley Hospital.

He married Carol Smith on April 9, 1958, in Caledonia, Minn.

He enjoyed antique cars, the outdoors and animals.

Surviving are his wife, Carol (Smith) Shireman; a son, Jerry (Sheila) Shireman, of Dubuque; a granddaughter, Carmen Shireman; and a brother, Stanley Shireman, of Dubuque.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gary in 1960; his parents; three brothers, Bernard, Harlan and Jerry Shireman; and two sisters, Mary Ann Miller and Sandra Cleveland.

A Joseph L. Shireman Memorial Fund has been established.
