Services for Mr. Frederick B. Ackmann Sr., 90, of Stonehill Care Center, 3485 Windsor Ave., formerly of 17694 John Deere Road, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road.

Mr. Ackmann worked in the body shop at the former Belsky Motor Co. and later at Shike-Richardson Buick & Cadillac for many years prior to retiring in 1966.

He was born on May 21, 1905, in Berge-Hannover, Germany, son of Henry and Wilhelmine Ackmann. He died at 3:25 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, 1996, at Mercy Health Center St. Joseph's Unit.

He married Gladys E. Gottschalk at the First Presbyterian Church, Dubuque; she died April 16, 1984.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Surviving are a son, Fred B. (and Kay) Ackmann Jr., of Dubuque; and two grandchildren, Jason and Darci Ackmann.

Memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church. A special thank you to the Stonehill Care Center and staff for their dedicated and loving care.
