Kim Marie Accola, 55, of 3660 Hillcrest Road, Dubuque, formerly of East Dubuque, Ill., died at 1:50 a.m. Sunday, March 4, 2007, at home, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home, 1185 Route 35 N., East Dubuque, with Pastor Wayne Whittenbaugh officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Dubuque. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She was born on Aug. 29, 1951, in Dubuque, daughter of Arnold and Muriel (Erschen) Accola.
She was a graduate of Visitation Academy.
She loved kids, baby-sat for 30 years and affected the life of many children whom she loved. Kim also enjoyed working with her computer.
She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church, Dubuque, where she served as church secretary and treasurer for 14 years.
Her whole life centered around church and Jesus Christ. She lived what she believed. Her testimony was spreading the gospel and the good news to anyone she came in contact with. Kim had a very active prayer life and prayed for everyone.
Surviving are her siblings, Joseph Accola, of East Dubuque, Bruce Accola, of Dubuque, and Joyce (Tommie) Thompson, of Ukiah, Calif.; a niece, Jennifer Collicot; two nephews, Jeffrey and Nicholas Schmid; her great-nieces and nephews; a stepmother, Iva Accola, of East Dubuque; a stepbrother, Jeff (Teri) Paramore, of East Dubuque; and stepniece and nephews, Deeanna, Mitchell and Russell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents; and a sister, Rosemary.
Memorials may be given to Hospice of Dubuque.
