Mr. Eugene Hall, one of the best known of the Dubuque veterans, died at the Finley hospital on Thursday morning at 7 o'clock.

Mr. Hall was a member of Co. F, Ninth Iowa infantry.

He has been a resident of Dubuque since 1898, having come to this city from Earlville about five years ago. He was 60 years old at the time of his death. He has been an inmate of Finley hospital for a year, and is well known in West Dubuque.

The dead man left no family or relatives. The funeral took place from Voelker's undertaking rooms on Friday morning at 10 o'clock, a large number of his friends and members of the G.A.R. being in attendance. His old comrades were his pall bearers and conducted the simple miliary services at the grave. He was buried in the Soldiers' lot at Linwood.
